Hey Chris you masked magician. I just tackled my wife's front brakes on her '14 Suburban. Thanks to your videos for giving me the confidence. $49 bucks. Yes sir. Thanks again. Keep up the great vids. Peace

+T-ony alvarado i know its a little late but you only need to bleed the brakes if you replace the piston system, pads is just that.

+ChrisFix Chris, I have OCD with front end noise on vehicles. Could you explain or maybe a video on what causes them. Maybe a DIY pull off tire front end inspection. I Am at 50k and certain bumps in the road I get a loose clunky noise. When i turn into driveways its squeaky also. There's nothing worse than going to the dealership and making noises at them. THANKS!!!!

+Cuauhtemoc Ramos As long as it's a disk and pad set up like most cars then yes, this video will apply to almost all makes and models. I assume your car d oesnt have drum brakes. You could find the parts you need (rotors, brake pads, and clips) online (amazon) for MUCH cheaper than at any store. Also one thing I don't think he mentioned is that it's necessary to do them in pairs of either the front or back, so make sure you get them in pairs and that they fit your vehicle!

I don't see why, he didn't disconnect the brake line so no air got in the system. Jmo.

Thank you so much Chris this video gave me the confidence to do the job myself for the first time. I had trouble with the back calipers though the bottom caliper bracket bolts were blocked by some suspension parts I think endlinks. I drive a 2013 Nissan Maxima S

Yea some cars there are parts in the way. Sometimes you need to remove the part or you can use a tool like a wrench to remove the bolt.

Just did the front brakes on my vehicle! Very helpful. Ran into one issue, when I put the wheel back on the 2 lug nuts were stuck. I tried to get them off and they were stuck. So I gave it a crank and the bolt broke! Fortunately I have a good friend that is a mechanic and he helped fix it for $50. Still came out way ahead vs. taking to a dealer.

There's a lot of ripoff channels on youtube that lie and give bad if not dangerous advice, this is NOT one of them. I retired from GM, I have worked on cars ,trucks and motorcycles since I was 10 and this is the best channel for auto repairs available. I retired in 2006 so I have to stay on top of anything new like the no-fill transmissions (which you have already covered in another video) if I want to continue doing my own repairs! Thank you for an awesome channel, keep up the good work! And for anyone that may be wondering if this channel is legit, everything Chris is doing is first class, top notch exactly as it should be done, YOU CAN TRUST THE ADVICE HE IS GIVING!

Hey Chris, long time watcher here, first time commentor. My son and I are in the midst of 'fixing' the brakes on his 2003 Chezuki Tracker. You're videos have been most helpful. We are learning some things by trial and error though. Once we hand the caliper off we noticed a few things. His guide pins on both sides were completely inoperable due to rust welding. He didn't believe me at first that they were even supposed to move. Typical kid, right? We spent a good deal of time getting them lose. We bought new ones, cleaned the guide pin holes thoroughly and attempted to reinstall the calipers and pads. This is were our SECOND learning experience opportunity occurred. The caliper piston was FROZEN. So the lesson was to check the function of parts before going to the parts store. I should have known since the inner brake pad was worn down completely and the outer was still like new. Anyway I would NEVER had attempted the fix, even though its taking longer than I'd had hoped, without your video. Thanks!
