You should always pack grease into the inner ball-joint, otherwise it will wear out quickly. A home alignment is easy to do with a tape measure. (you tube it). TIP: Always buy a good quality part, I just had a cheap Ebay inner tie rod fail within 500 miles and it was properly greased. I have the tie rod tool but a pipe wrench works fine if you have the room.

Cable ties are deemed a permanent installation for those boots. If a kit comes with a metal clamp kit, you use it. However, they rarely do, they come with cable ties. They tend to last for a long time, still going strong on a 22-year-old Fiesta we get in the garage, for the past fifteen years.

BRO..... USE THE NUT THAT COMES WITH IT, BECAUSE ONCE I USED THE OLD ONE WHEN I CHANGED MY SWAY BAR THAT LOOSENED UP BY ITS OWN AND MY CAR STARTED MAKING CLUNKY NOISE. 'THEY LOOK SAME, BUT THERES ACTUALLY A DIFFERENCE.'

This helped loads. But it's just missing the string method for getting a reasonable alignment before you get to the garage. You might have other things to do and not want to pay twice in one month for alignments.

Great how-to video ChrisFix! Two things that stood out...good camera focus on what matters and good audio. Too many videos on YouTube lack proper lighting/audio when explaining something. You made the job look easy for the novice mechanic! Great idea to show all the tools necessary to do a job that someone else won't have to redo!

Replace the screwdriver for a pry bar! A screw driver is not for prying. Also you can use the hammer on the knuckle side to get the tie rod end out.

Hi Chris I read down below question about rack and pinion. My Acura MDX is using up a lot of power steering fluid. I replaced the pressure line to power steering pump down below. Still losing lots of fluid. Could it be my Rack and Pinion are bad? P/S.. Power Steering Pump does not seem to be leaking. Your Advise is very much Appreciated.

Inner tie-rods are different on the 2003 Honda Element. The tool used in this video will not work! It is not long enough, and the crow foot socket is not deep enough to correctly fit on to the appropriate surface. Of you have an 03 element this video will not help you replace the inner tie-rods.

I have a Subaru forester 1997 that has been great for all the years with very little to do other than annual services. Only done 75,000 miles. However, recently I have had a lot of vibration & shuddering on the wheels when making tight turns. I have had all difs replaced that has reduced the frequency but not always. We hope it isn't the automatic gear box but has anyone got any ideas what to do next. Any thoughts???
